In this piece, I would like to share a message with my readers. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has followed my work. Having written various essays and novels over time, I imagine you may have formed a wide range of impressions and feelings.
As I explained in detail in my previously published essay, “The Margin of Words and Liberation from Kotodama (the Spirit of Language),” my writing intentionally leaves room for “blank spaces.” Regardless of the nature of your impressions—whether positive or negative—those spaces are filled by your own experiences and thoughts. They are something that can be completed through your own choices.
Who you are is something you can choose for yourself. A character in one of my favorite novels (a popular British fantasy series about wizards) once said: “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” This is the core message I wish to convey to my readers, and it is deeply intertwined with my writing style.
No matter what you feel or how others perceive you, you are the only one who can decide who you are. Even if you are lost or uncertain, I hope you will keep this thought in the back of your mind.
